Refund and Returns Policy
Effective Date: May 2, 2026
At Save Mangroves Nursery, we specialize in the cultivation of living biological organisms. Because these plants are subject to environmental variables beyond our control once they leave our facility, this policy is strictly enforced to protect the biosecurity of our nursery and the viability of our business.
1. General Policy: All Sales Are Final
Due to Department of Agriculture regulations and strict nursery biosecurity protocols, we do not accept any returns of live plants under any circumstances. Once a plant has been delivered, it cannot be reintroduced to our nursery.
2. Standard Nursery Stock: Live Arrival Guarantee
For standard-sized mangrove plants NOT labeled as “Fully Mature Plants,” we offer a Live Arrival Guarantee based on biological viability (the ability of the organism to live and grow).
Aesthetic Condition vs. Viability: Save Mangroves Nursery does not provide replacements or store credit based on the “aesthetic condition” of your plants. Mangroves are extremely hardy organisms that naturally drop leaves and grow new ones during environmental transitions. Leaf loss, yellowing, or temporary drooping are natural biological responses and do not qualify for a claim.
The 1-Hour Inspection Window: To qualify for a claim, the buyer must email help@savemangroves.com within 60 minutes of the carrier’s “Delivered” timestamp.
Required Documentation: Claims must include well-lit, clear, high-resolution photos of:
The plant with its original shipping packaging.
The entire root system and stem clearly visible after unpacking.
- Water/Setup Verification: A description of the water parameters and setup the plant was placed into. We reserve the right to request a photo of your water testing results (TDS/Salinity/Nitrates).
Remedy: Valid claims for non-viable (dead) standard plants will be settled via Replacement or Store Credit only. No cash, debit card, or credit card refunds will be issued.
3. Fully Mature Red Mangrove Plant Specimens
For Fully Mature Red Mangrove Plants labeled “Fully Mature Plants”, we operate under a Strict Zero-Liability Policy.
Assumption of Risk: By purchasing a Mature Legacy Specimen, the buyer assumes 100% of the risk associated with shipping stress and environmental transition.
“As-Is” Final Sale: These specimens are sold “As-Is” at the point of shipment. We guarantee the plant is viable and established at the time of packing; however, we provide no warranty regarding the plant’s aesthetic condition or survival once it is in the possession of the carrier or the buyer.
Shipping Shock Acknowledgement: Buyer acknowledges that “shipping shock” – including leaf drop, yellowing, or temporary drooping – is a natural biological response and does not constitute a “damaged” or “non-viable” plant product.
Non-Reversible & Non-Refundable Transaction: By completing the purchase of a Fully Mature Plant specimen, the buyer explicitly waives the right to dispute the transaction via bank chargeback or payment processor dispute based on the subjective “health” or “aesthetic condition” of the plant.
4. Voiding of Protections (Mandatory Care Procedure)
All plants at Save Mangroves Nursery are grown in clean, room-temperature freshwater with ZERO chemicals or fertilizers. To maintain your guarantee, you must follow our acclimation Standard Operating Procedure found in our Free Mangrove Care Guide PDF located on our homepage and in all Footer sections of our website. All guarantees and merchant protections are immediately voided if:
Delayed Retrieval: The package is not retrieved and placed inside a room-temperature environment within 1 hour of delivery.
Improper Submersion: All roots are not immediately submerged in clean, room-temperature freshwater upon opening.
Chemical Exposure: The plant is introduced to water containing any level of chemicals, “plant food,” or fertilizers (Chemical/Root Burn).
Address Errors: An incorrect or incomplete shipping address was provided.
Environmental Shock: The plant is subjected to improper acclimation, extreme temperature swings, or artificial light shock from lamps held too close to the plant leaves.
5. Shipping & Carrier Liability
Once a package leaves our facility, it is the property and responsibility of the carrier (USPS, UPS, or FedEx).
Carrier Errors: We are not responsible for delays, transit damage, or loss caused by the carrier.
Claims: If plants arrive dead due to carrier negligence (e.g., crushed box), the buyer must file a claim directly with the carrier.
